David J. Masters on the pier in Old Town Key West in his twenties—the years this memoir remembers. Memories of Key West grew out of years of looking back on a place that never entirely let go of me. When I first arrived in Old Town Key West in the 1970s, I found more than a destination—I found a world of characters, atmosphere, freedom, and unpredictability that stayed with me long after I left.
